In early 2015 - well ahead of the UNFCCC-COP21 in Paris - the Climate Finance Task Force (CFTF) has been set up at the initiative of the Luxembourg government, in a multistakeholder, pluridisciplinary, public private format, to advise the government on the design and the implementation of the Luxembourg Climate Finance Strategy.

Since April 2015, the CFTF has held 11 meetings, under the political guidance of the Minister of Finance and the Minister for the Environment. In regular reporting sessions, the CFTF has provided input for the 2015 Luxembourg Presidency of the EU Council of ministers and in preparation of the negociations at the COP21 in Paris.

Intensive work, at working group level in 2016, has resulted in the adoption of the Luxembourg Climate Finance Strategy.
